Every year Wallboard, Inc. holds a golf outing at the Fairway of Woodside in Sussex, WI. Each year there are fabulous fairways, delicious catered meals, great door prizes and fantastic raffle items. In 2017 we celebrated our 25th Anniversary Wallboard Golf Outing. We took everything up a notch, including a prime rib dinner, super raffles and a special anniversary grand prize raffle, which included complete airfare, lodging, transportation, spending money and two tickets to the Packer/Cowboy game that was held in Dallas. We had one of our best turnouts yet! What does a great turn out mean? It means lots of generous donations! This year, we again decided to focus the proceeds and donations locally to Ashley Rohde’s Fight Against Cancer and St. Mary’s Burn Camp for Kids.
Ashley Rohde is a vivacious 10 year old girl who is battling T cell lymphoblastic lymphoma cancer. In 2016, thanks to the generosity of our fabulous customers and suppliers, we were able to give a very sizeable donation to the Ashley Rohde Foundation to help with the many accrued medical expenses, along with lost family pay. In 2017, Ashley’s wish was to go to Disney World, and we wanted to help make this dream possible. We were very happy to be able to give her $4000 towards her dream trip! And Ashley and her family were beyond thrilled.
Another organization that has been very important to Wallboard, Inc., and to whom we have been able to make large contributions to over the years, is St. Mary’s Burn Camp. St. Mary’s Burn Camp provides, for free, transportation, food and lodging along with a variety of activities such as canoeing, swimming, horseback riding, crafts, games, fishing, and nature hikes to burn injured youth. This experience is centered around their unique needs, while they have a great summer meeting new friends who have had similar injuries. Through the generosity of this golf outing, we are able to donate $6000 to this deserving organization.
As you can see, our 25th Anniversary Wallboard Golf Outing was a huge success. We are already looking forward to 2018’s Golf Outing where we will be celebrating our 50th year in business! This outing will take place August 30th, 2018 and we hope to see you there!
